The T-72A obr.1984g was a variant of the T-72A that utilised the T-72A obr.1979g model’s additional glacis armour of an extra 17mm of high-resistant steel and included Anti-Radiation Lining; some models were fitted with Kontakt-1 Explosive Reactive Armour before it was standardised with the T-72AV.
