T-72 Mahmia (Adra) 2nd Gen

T-72 Mahmia (unoficially "T-72 Adra") is a Syrian upgrade of the T-72M1 featuring slat and spaced armour as extra protection against HEAT, also known as Shielded T-72 or T-72 Mahmia.

Main features & differences:

• Protection:
  • use of thicker girders to hold appliqué and cage armor to the vehicle
  • removal of ball and chain armor
  • larger hull bumper with spaced armor added onto it
  • heightened cage armor
  • more, thicker, spaced armor being added to the glacis plates
