The Slovak T-72M2, known as Moderna, is a highly advanced prototype that was never put into service, and only one was built.
This modernization represents a more radical and comprehensive upgrade, incorporating advanced Western technology in collaboration with French companies like Sagem, Sfim, and Thomson-CSF.

- Main gun: 125 mm smoothbore gun (2A46MS)

- Initially including two 20 mm Oerlikon-Contraves KAA anti-aircraft guns and later upgraded to 30 mm 2A42 anti-aircraft guns

- TIGS thermal sight for the gunner
- MVS 580 commander’s panoramic sight
- Ballistic computer and turret management system with stabilization (0.3 mrad in azimuth, 0.5 mrad in elevation)
- Laser rangefinder and meteosensor for improved accuracy
