The T-72M (Ob'yekt 172M-E3 / Object 172M-E3) is a soviet export version based on the standard T-72 model.
It was specifically designed for Warsaw Pact members. It is identical to the Czechoslovakia version and is not officially a different version but could have different add-ons.
It was sold to Iraq and to Syria and was built under licence in Poland by Bumar-Łabędy and Czechoslovakia.
Features:

  • rubber side skirts (instead of "gill armour")
  • 902W "Tucha" smoke grenade launchers

Late production models have an additional 16 mm steel plate welded on the upper glacis plate, like in the T-72M1
